  1. My smoky homemade borlotti baked beans are comfort food at their simplest minus the extracts and modified whatsits found in packaged food.

    These baked beans are cooked with pork stock made with a meatless smoked pork bone from Greenvale Farm, my homemade tomato passata bottled last summer, some demerara sugar and a couple of drips of homemade chilli sauce. That’s it!

    Hearty & warming, I served them with Hartdale Park venison chorizo and fresh bread. Cheap, easy, sustainable and truly delicious.
