    I made them in the Chinese style with super flaky lard pastry, each one is just one tiny morsel, a mouthful of joy. Sweetness meets heat and fragrance from black pepper and a faint perfume from the homegrown geranium leaves that are removed from the syrup before placing in the tart shells.
